Citizen Nighthawk

The Citizen Nighthawk, simply put, is an amazing watch, with the dial captivating all the attention one can not help staring at it.

Citizen Nighthawk comes with case that is somewhere between Submariners styled Divers and Tool Divers. It is big enough and looks like a Monster, but watch is not so big and may be easily worn with long sleeves. Case has beautiful brushed finish.

The case of Citizen Nighthawk has 2 distinct parts and back of case is inscribed with ‘Eco Drive’ logo. The engraving is  done very beautifully but it is very shallow, extremely detailed with “Nighthawk” written in middle of logo.

Citizen Nighthawk is part of Citizen’s promaster family and promaster logo is also there on the dial. Citizen Nighthawk has an extremely fabulous crystal. Open face crystal without any external bezel sets a “Fortis” like look for Citizen Nighthawk. You must see it in person as photographs may not show the clean and clear crystal design of Citizen Nighthawk truly.

Citizen Nighthawk belongs to Eco Drive movement of Citizen. Dial of Citizen Nighthawk is quite complex and yet simple as well as effective. Inner slide rule has 2 sets of numbered indices; logarithmic scale and time scale allowing viewing Rate/Time/Distance calculation with common form of time rather than decimal version of time. Outer ring that rotates has logarithmic scale along with few conversion factors (Gallons, Miles etc). Left half of dial has 24 hour GMT indicator. Citizen Nighthawk is functional and stylish simultaneously.

The Citizen Nighthawk has best wrist-watch regardless of size and color. Red accents present on dial makes it stand out. Time indices/ hands have Bell&Ross-ish design, and give “mechanical” appearance, are precisely machined looking absolutely striking against black dial.

Only qualm that I see with this watch is its mechanism of setting hands. It is also recommended that you must not rotate the watch crown clockwise while trying to change date. When crown is in date correction position; rotating it clockwise would move hour hand and rotating counterclockwise would changes date.

The Citizen Nighthawk has a solid, heavy and attractive bracelet that holds watch well. Citizen Nighthawk uses “Natulight” lume compound that has signature blue glow lasting for approx. 4-5 hours with 10 min. of sunlight/ high powered flashlight. I believe to have said enough good and nice things about Citizen Nighthawk. It has become my instant favorite and would recommend this to all my friends and friends and other acquaintances. I am simply in love with this wonderful watch.
